Join us for this exciting and informative Event Screening in the ReelHeART Professional Series.

A panel of two busy production teams from Canada and the United Kingdom who are making waves with their Low Budget/Micro Budget Filmmaking that’s turned the Indie Filmmaking World on it’s head will share their journeys on how to network, promote, market and get your film made.

Team UK is

  • Phil Peel is an award-winning Screenwriter, Director, Producer and Director of Photography.

Previously a BBC director, then Course Leader of Bachelor of Arts in Film Production at Arts at the University at Bournemouth.

Phil has produced, directed, shot over 50 shorts, winning at festivals worldwide.

  • Melisa De Mol is an award winning actress and indie producer and who runs the UK based production company Grindstone Films with Phil Peel.

Melissa began her acting career at age 14 in the United Kingdom performing in
The Carpenters Story” in front of thousands of delighted audience members.

She has gone on to have many thrilling roles in theatre, TV and film; including lead roles with the Royal Shakespeare Company, High Tide Theatre and alongside Sandra Dickinson, Susan Kyd and Jane How in “Dead Fred”.

Melissa received the ‘Best Actress’ award at the 2016 ReelHeART International Film and Screenplay Festival for her role in “Chasing Fame”, shot on location in Toronto, Niagara Falls, London and Glasgow.

She has been producing since 2015 and has completed three short films, two of

which are still on the festival circuit, and which have won six awards to date. She currently has two feature films in development with several more on the slate.
